digging

I just 'dug' these pictures up from this past spring..  Haha!  :)
D had to do some digging so Wyatt also had to.

D soon realized that the new backhoe was too small and we had a bigger one within a couple of days..  usually how things roll around here...  never big enough!  :)

24 inches

Audrey's hair was 24 inches when we left home yesterday.  And 21 inches when we got back home.  :(

I realize it is just hair, but it was just a hard decision to take Audrey to get her very first trim.  Those sweet curls on the bottom are her original newborn hair and I am tearing up just thinking about it now.
But with hair starting to dangle into the potty while going potty, it was time to take a bit off.
(Right, Abby?!?)   :)

I couldn't have asked for a more perfect person to do the honors of giving Audrey her first trim.  Janie is a dear friend of mine and also has a daughter who, when Audrey's age, had very long hair so Janie knew exactly what I was feeling while those scissors were clipping away.    There were tears from all of us except for Audrey.  She did so good and loved watching herself in the mirror.

Janie and Audrey

It's not a lot but it's still such a huge deal!

This sweet curl is going in a shadow-box and will hang in Audrey's room.

Happy Birthday Dear!

My hunny celebrated his 31st birthday a few weeks ago and of course the day was filled with gifts, favorite foods and sweet kiddos singing Happy Birthday.

| sweet acorns |

For a family get-together at our home last week, I made these sweet little acorn candies.  They were a huge hit (none were left) and they were fun to make!

Acorn Candies
bag of Hershey's Kisses
bag of mini chocolate chips
bag of Nutter Butter minis

Melt about 1/4 cup of the mini chocolate chips in a bowl.  Dip the bottom of a Hershey's Kiss in the melted chocolate and attach to a Nutter Butter mini.  Lay on waxed paper or cookie sheet and let the chocolate set up.  Once the chocolate is set up on the kiss/nutter butter combo, dip the end of a toothpick in the bowl of melted chocolate and put a dab in the middle of the Nutter Butter mini, then place a mini chocolate chip on the top of the acorn.

So cute and yummy!
