Fair

This picture sums up last week at the fair.

These 5 kiddos spent a lot of time together running around the barns and playing in water.

washing the calves before the show

Great Grandpa bought a funnel cake to share with the kids...  this was their first funnel cake.

Landon wasn't too sure about it at first but then pretty much devoured the whole thing.

Audrey preferred her string cheese.

I love tiny boots!  These are just the cutest!   :)

LOTS more pictures to come!

persistence didn't pay off

For about three years, I have been trying to kill this tuft of weird grass that has been growing along the back of our house.  I have sprayed it dozens of times with roundup but it WOULD NOT DIE!!!  I was beginning to think I should dig it up and plant it in one of my flower gardens.

Anyway, last week 'D' and I were walking around the yard after the kids were asleep and I mentioned something to 'D' that I just cannot get that grass to die.  He walked over to it and effortlessly pulled it out  off of the ground.  Turns out, that weird tuft of grass is actually fake Christmas greenery that blew back there one winter.  We laughed so hard!!!!

It's actually still there... 'D' just laid it back down where it was "growing"...   maybe I'll give it a good spray with roundup every now and then for good measure!

walking calves

The boys are hard at work getting their calves ready for the fair.
They've been walking Leo and Loopy daily and love to give them "bathes".

I love how the boys can safely walk their calves down our little country road. (just not in the fall when semis go rolling by our house at 60mph)  Yikes!

I love how our little lady plays in the dirt while wearing tutus.
She's a feminine farmgirl!  That's the best kind!

royalty

Did you know we have royalty in our family?

And this is her throne...

This is Audrey's favorite place to be when her daddy is shaving..  she sits and just watches him..

This particular day, she had on her princess crown while watching, so I had to go run and grab the camera!  :)
